Paint Jamaica is one of the most interactive art projects to happen to Jamaica in a while. With its creative tentacles up the crevices and curves of the inner cities, and the promise of cutting edge dialogue between the creative community and the local communities, the project is making waves. It is a mural project slated to occur between June and July of this year. Headed by traveler and Egyptian native Marianna , it boasts a 2000 USD mark on crowdrise, an online crowd funding website. With involvement from some of Jamaica’s youngest and most promising visual Artistes, such as: Taj Francis, Matthew McCarthy, Kokab Zohoori-Dossa, and Djet Layne tentatively . It aims to create a dialogue with the local communities and the art world, and simultaneously change the way these communities are viewed from the inside and out.

The movement is growing and can be tracked by online updates from Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Here is an example of such an update, shot by Jik Reuben Pringle;
